Westmoreland Gazette
Summer 2011
Greetings from the President
Welcome to Summer 2011. Warm weather means time for gatherings of friends and family. We have been very fortunate that crime has been infrequent. Let’s continue to be diligent in watching out for suspicious persons and activity and reporting them to the police and each other appropriately. The non-emergency number for the police is 419-936-3444. Please also report incidents to Janna Lake, the block watch captain at 419-320-7993.
The water line project on Mt. Vernon is complete. The city has done a fairly good job re-planting grass and cleaning up debris. If you still have areas of concern please call the city at 419-467-3639. On another note, there have been fewer cars parked on the streets for long periods of time but please continue to be considerate and move cars per city ordinance. It allows the street cleaners to do their job. Have a great summer and I hope to see you all at the summer picnic. As always, please feel free to cal me with concerns at 419-460-4220.
Very Best Regards,
Ron Howell
Thank you to the Westmoreland residents who have paid their dues in a timely manner. There are several residents though, who have not paid their dues. It is important to remember that your dues are the primary source of income for the Westmoreland Association. Dues go to support beautification of the neighborhood, the newsletter, social events, the web site, the annual garage sale and other events. Another dues notice will be sent to those who have not yet paid their dues. Dues are $40. If you have questions, please contact the treasurer Dave Dittman at motleydave@yahoo.com.

Some reminders
Westmoreland, summer is here! Let’s all keep our neighborhood up. Here are a few reminders for our new and some old neighbors. City ordinances prohibit “excessive and unnecessary noise”. There are curfews for teenagers (10pm for children under 11; 11pm for children between the ages of 11 and 15; and midnight for children who are 16 or 17). No vehicles are allowed to be parked on the street for more than18 hours, they can be ticketed and towed. Let’s be conscious of our neighbors and neighborhood.
See you around the neighborhood,
